“This has to be one of the worst notes app I’ve ever used. I really wanted it to work as I like the main concept of obsidian. However, the user interface for both the macOS and iOS versions makes absolutely no sense and is overcomplicated with toggle switches and unintuitive search boxes. Also many times search doesn’t Work or it needs to re-index.”App Store · ★ · 2026-02-05 · conf 100%

“You are forced to use iCloud for your own device syncing. You should easily be able to allow selecting a folder in finder (aka my Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive) so that I don’t have to use iCloud. “I also tried Obsidian in the past, but like Anytype much better. Being able to make your own types with custom templates is such a joy. Also, great syncing in the Apple ecosystem. Only real improvement in my eyes would be better integration with handwritten notes. Though pdf integration enables integrating scans into objects, this is a bit meh :-).”Reddit · r/Anytype · 2026-10-03 · conf 99%

“app looks great but for some reason it cannot read and I cannot figure out how to import/convert plain txt files to md. “I used to love obsidian but I can’t use it if there is no reliable sync between computer and phone. iCloud Drive creates duplicate files and deletes the last sentence I write when I’m trying to write on the PC app. Please fix this and work with iCloud instead of saying there’s nothing we can do. I’m going with Joplin for the moment because there is no point of there is no sync.”App Store · ★ · 2026-01-07 · conf 50%

It asks how you'd like to use it then at the end tells you the price, you have to go all the way back to figure out if there even is a free option. I was too annoyed at this point & just deleted it.
